This past week, I was honoured with the Champion Award from the GSA and the GSA Board of Directors.
I WAS SHOCKED because I didn’t expect to receive such an award. Previous winners include many great administrators that are deans, faculty members, UCalgary staff. And every year, I would be the one preparing these awards for others ( 😎 ) so the Board chose me for this award has been such a surprise.
My journey with the GSA has been almost 7 years, and I had spent much of my 20s with this organization. The amount of growth and friendship I received from the GSA is much more than I had offered. So for that, I offer my greatest GRATITUDE for the award.
I shout out to all of my colleagues and executives who are caring, open-minded, hard-working, willing to learn each day to make the GSA a great workplace and serve the graduate student population.
This award is for you as well.
